Scooters, Quads & Buggies:
Coverage includes bodily injury to third parties up to €1,300,000 per person and material damage to third parties up to €1,300,000. 24-hour roadside assistance is included.
However, accidents involving only the rented vehicle or resulting from misuse are not covered. In such cases, the Lessee is responsible for the full cost of damages.
Cars (FDW Full Insurance):
Includes the same third-party liability as above, as well as personal accident coverage up to €15,000, legal protection up to €3,000, damage caused by an uninsured vehicle up to €100,000, and protection against theft, fire, medical expenses, and collision with another moving object.
Extra Insurance (€5/day):
Covers damage to the underbody, wheels, tires, mirrors, and windscreens, but is valid only on paved roads. Damage on unpaved roads is not covered.
Driving Rules & Responsibilities
Speed limits must be respected: up to 50 km/h on main roads and 30–40 km/h in residential areas.
Use of helmets is mandatory for scooters and ATVs, while seat belts must be worn in cars and buggies.
Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs is strictly forbidden.
Any fines incurred during the rental period are the responsibility of the Lessee.
Misuse of the vehicle, including off-road driving, drifting, or beach driving, is prohibited.
Access to Cavo Paradiso is strictly forbidden. If a vehicle is detected in that area, a €300 penalty will apply in addition to any damage-related charges.
Fuel & Cleanliness
The vehicle must be returned with the same fuel level as received. No refunds are given for extra fuel left in the tank.
In the case of cars, it is not allowed to enter the vehicle with wet clothing, swimwear, or to consume food and drinks inside. If the interior is not returned in its original condition, a biological cleaning fee of €50 will apply.
Breakdowns & Damage
Roadside assistance is free unless the issue results from misuse. A fuel-related call-out costs €30 plus the value of the fuel. Towing from restricted areas like beaches or Cavo Paradiso incurs a €150 fee.
Any damage must be reported immediately. Failure to do so may result in the loss of support or replacement.
The Lessee is responsible for the loss or damage to helmets, keys, and accessories. The cost of damage to the underbody, wheels, or tires is also the Lessee’s responsibility unless caused by a verified traffic accident or covered by extra insurance.
Accidents
In the event of an accident, the Lessee must inform ALWAYSBEST and the police immediately. Relevant information must be collected, including photographs, witness contacts, and details of any involved vehicles.
If the accident involves only the rented vehicle or results from misuse, the Lessee bears full responsibility for all damages.
Other Policies
Vehicles may not be transferred to another island without written permission from ALWAYSBEST. All vehicles are GPS-tracked for safety and monitoring purposes.
If the vehicle is not collected on the reserved date and the booking is not canceled in advance, no refund will be provided. Any refund issued will be returned to the original credit card used for the booking.
