General Rental Information
The minimum age to rent a vehicle is 21 years. All drivers must hold a valid driving license for at least 1 year.
License categories:
- AM: 50cc scooters
- A1: scooters up to 125cc
- A2: scooters up to 300cc
- B: Cars, Quads and Buggies
Only drivers listed in the rental agreement are permitted to drive the vehicle.
Rental Period
Standard rental hours are from 09:00 to 21:00 for same-day return. We do not offer 24-hour rentals by default. Exceptions may apply for special requests such as airport or port pickups and returns.
Rental Conditions
The rental period is fixed, and the vehicle must be returned at the agreed time and location. Delays are charged at €5 per hour for scooters and €10 per hour for cars, quads, and buggies.
Speed limits must always be respected: up to 50 km/h on main roads and 30–40 km/h in residential areas and villages.
The use of helmets on scooters and ATVs and seat belts in cars and buggies is mandatory for all passengers.
Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs is strictly prohibited. The Lessee is fully responsible for any damage caused while under the influence.
Any fines or penalties incurred during the rental period are the sole responsibility of the Lessee and must be paid immediately upon return.
The vehicle must be returned with the same fuel level as received. If returned with less fuel, the difference will be charged. No refund is provided for extra fuel.
Vehicles may not be used for illegal activities, racing, drifting, safari driving, off-road driving, driving on sand, beaches, Salt Lake, Cavo Paradiso, or any unpaved roads. Vehicles may not be transferred to another island without written permission.
Access to Cavo Paradiso and Salt Lake is strictly forbidden. All vehicles are GPS-tracked. If a vehicle is detected in these areas, a €300 penalty will apply in addition to any damage or towing costs.
For cars, entering with wet clothing or swimwear, smoking, or consuming food and drinks inside the vehicle is not allowed. If the interior is returned in poor condition, a €50 cleaning fee will apply.
AlwaysBest is not responsible for personal belongings left inside the vehicle.
Damage, Breakdown & Road Assistance
Roadside assistance is included free of charge unless the issue is caused by misuse.
Fuel-related assistance costs €30 plus fuel charges. Towing or recovery from restricted areas such as beaches, Salt Lake, or Cavo Paradiso is charged at €150.
The Lessee must immediately inform AlwaysBest of any accident, damage, or breakdown.
If the vehicle suffers normal mechanical damage, a replacement vehicle of equal or greater value may be provided, subject to availability.
The Lessee is fully responsible for any damage, loss, or destruction involving the underbody, wheels, tires, mirrors, windshields, keys, helmets, and accessories of the vehicle. Any damaged, lost, or destroyed item must be paid for in full by the Lessee.
In the event of an accident, the Lessee must immediately notify AlwaysBest and the police, and collect photographs, witness details, and information about the other vehicle involved.
Insurance Coverage - Cars Only
Full Insurance without excess (FDW) The Full Insurance for cars includes bodily injury coverage to third parties up to €1,300,000 per person, material damage to third parties up to €1,300,000, personal accident coverage up to €15,000, legal protection for the driver up to €3,000, fire coverage, total or partial theft, damage caused by uninsured vehicles up to €100,000 and 24-hour Road Assistance. Full Insurance does not cover accidents where there is misuse of the vehicle or damage caused by unpaved roads.
Extra Insurance – Cars Only The Extra Insurance costs €5 per day and includes underbody coverage, wheels and tires coverage, mirrors coverage, and broken windshields coverage. This insurance is valid only on paved roads. Damage caused by unpaved roads is never covered.
Insurance Coverage - Scooters, ATVs, and Buggies Only
Limited Full Insurance This insurance includes third-party bodily injury coverage up to €1,300,000 per person, third-party material damage coverage up to €1,300,000, and 24-hour roadside assistance. In addition, it covers damage to both sides of the vehicle only when the damage is caused by an accident involving another moving vehicle. It does not cover accidents involving only the Lessee, damage caused by misuse, falls or overturning without collision with another vehicle or object, or damage caused by driving on unpaved roads. In all such cases, the Lessee is required to pay the full cost of the damages to the Lessor immediately.
Free Cancellation
You can cancel your booking at any time by requesting cancellation via email at info@alwaysbest.gr. Cancellations are accepted 15 days before the actual rental date.
If the Lessee does not cancel the booking before the scheduled pick-up time and does not collect the vehicle on the agreed pick-up date, AlwaysBest reserves the right to apply a No-Show Charge. This charge covers administrative costs and compensation for the loss of rental opportunity while the vehicle was reserved for the Lessee. In such cases, prepaid booking fees are non-refundable.
